In today’s world, private cars are seen as a main transportation method by more people. This situation brings along several problems such as carbon emissions and traffic jam. However, I believe these problems can be overcome by more frequent and contemporary public transportation networks in the circle of the world.
To begin with, with a growing enthusiasm for possessing a personal car, the number of vehicles rises in traffic. Thereby, every new car means a new source of carbon to our planet, because cars use carbon-based fuels and release carbon into the atmosphere which exacerbates the global warming situation in the long run. For example, according to a survey, carbon released by cars comprises 60% of all released in a day. Moreover, more cars in traffic reflect heavy traffic. As a consequence of being stuck in traffic every day, drivers demonstrate impatient and aggressive attitudes towards other people in their lives. To name one example, taxi drivers who spend most of their time in traffic are regarded as the most furious people in society.
On the other side, improvement of public transportation conditions would be the most effective remedy for the situation. It is an undeniable fact that the poor conditions of public transportation do not measure up to individuals’ expectations. Thus, people exhibit reluctance for public transportation usage. Long waiting times and an inadequate number of seats constitute major complaints from the public. In order to tackle the problem, firstly, governments should increase the frequency of bus services. Secondly, the number of seats in a bus must be increased by authorities. For example, in China, officials saw a reduction in private car numbers on roads just after supplying new, modern, and comfortable buses.
To sum up, enhancing enthusiasm for using private cars threatens individuals’ mental health and what is more to the world’s natural layout. If governments manage to convince people to use public transportation rather than their private cars by offering an allure public transportation network, the situation can be eradicated.
