The service of buses, taxis and trains is very poor. Most people arrive late to their offices because the buses are not following their schedules properly. Consequently, office workers are unable to reach to their offices on time, and the companies deduct their salaries for this not reaching on time. For example, healthcare is a very time sensitive field, and workers often reach late to hospitals which can risk the lives of patients. Moreover, the fares of public vehicles are increasing day by day and are nearly equal to petrol prices, so people prefer to use their private vehicles instead of public ones. It also helps them to reach to offices on time.
One effective solution is that local government should introduce new policies for the improvement of public transport. Bus drivers should be heavily penalized for not following the specified schedules. This will potentially help people to reach offices on time and then people will start to travel again in public transport, consequently reducing the number of private vehicles on roads. Another practical solution is that government should reduce the fares of public transport by subsidizing the buses and trains. It will gradually improve the affordability. This till change the preference of people from private vehicles to public transport.
