Nowadays, people choose to have business meetings online rather than in person, especially after COVID-19. Have you ever wondered if online meetings achieves the same aim like meeting in person?
There is no doubt that online business meetings are easier and faster, in addition to it brings business owners together from all over the world. Moreover, it saves a lot of money and it increases productivity. While many people believe that online meetings has brought numerous benefits and helped us move forward, others argue that it has also brought some negative consequences.
Undeniably, online meetings are time saving, because there is no need to take transportation from a place to the other. Also, it can be taken from any place. For instance, it saves time if you are living in a place far away from where the meeting will be conducted. With the advent of phone and laptops, meetings can be proceeded from another country with no need to fly in. Additionally, there are reasonable perspectives that seem to be justified on both sides of this topic, as it is not all about its positive impact.
On the other hand, the main disadvantage associated with online meetings is technical difficulties because not every place has a good quality of internet and electricity. According to a magazine article, online meetings may lead to misinformation by 30% due to lack of in person communciation, which some information may be understood differently. In third world countries, they have a huge problem in internet and electricty cuts which makes it harder to work and have online meetings.
In conclusion to the arguments mentioned above, online meetings have been a lifesaver since 2019. However, in person meetings help people connect and communicate easier with less information missing. From my perspective, I think that meeting in person helps in understanding tasks and what you need to do.
