In this developing world, employees have numerous options for work arrangements, especially working offline and remote to enhance time efficiency. From my own perspective, I believe this is a positive development due to various reasons.
Beginning with the positive side, there are several reasons why working online is beneficial. Firstly, it’s undeniable that people will have a flexible schedule when they work from home. To be clear, there are many people who struggle to manage and balance their time effectively when they’re in the office. For instance, they are always late for work or skip the break due to the traffic or oversleeping. But working from home can gain more time for them and make it easier for people to manage their schedule, which means they don’t have to deal with the stress of commuting or accidentally oversleeping. Secondly, working remotely can increase employee’s efficiency. Indeed, people tend to feel more stress when they’re in the company, under the supervision of their boss than working in their house. Moreover, the quiet atmosphere in their own home can foster better concentration and productivity for them.
On the other hand, this phenomenon also has some disadvantages. First, some people may skip their work due to the lack of leader’s supervision. Indeed, some people might take advantage of the situation and shirk their responsibilities, leading to work inefficiency. Moreover, there are certain roles that may not be well-suited for remote work such as a secretary or the supervisor. Secondly, it’s difficult for the employer to manage when it comes to urgent and unexpected problems. For instance, it’s unsure that every employee can promptly respond to emergencies when they’re working remotely. Consequently, the problem can’t be solved soon or even be delayed and it might negatively impact work outcomes.
In summary, I believe that working remotely has certain benefits to the company and the workforce. Besides, the director as well as the leader should strategically implement remote work policies to maximize efficiency and minimize potential drawbacks.
