Undoubtedly, companies require specific vocational skills and knowledge from their employees. Today, however, most students must learn all subjects, like history or social studies. I believe the benefits do not outweigh the drawbacks because time will be wasted and people go to school to develop the skills necessary for work.
Having to study social subjects can be beneficial since they will broaden the students’ perspectives and general knowledge, no matter what kind of expert they become. To illustrate, a scientist may still have to learn about the society before they wish to create a technology to help this society, to ensure their device will not offend the local belief’s system. However, learning too many subjects is not useful since it will be a waste of time.
Most students already have an idea about what they want to do in the future. Therefore, time and energy should be concentrated on equipping these students with specific knowledge and skills to match the prerequisites for their jobs. Moreover, most people go to school in the first place to be competitive enough for work. If schools claim they truly care for the children’s future, then they have to provide what is best.
To conclude, more negative impacts will emerge when all students are forced to study all subjects, as time will be wasted, and the education system shouldmfocus on providing the best service for the next generation.
