It is evident that numerous countries are increasing their funds for education as they realize its significance. In my opinion, sports and mathematics are the most important subjects, while music has the least importance.
On the one hand, people should not neglect the emphasis on PE and maths, for they are essential to general education. Firstly, with the popularity of electronics, more and more students have adopted a sedentary lifestyle which will cause obesity and many other ailments. Having more physical education can improve students’ physical fitness and allow them to lead healthy lifestyles. Secondly, maths is the foundation of other scientific subjects, such as physics, economics, geography, etc… If students fail to grasp basic mathematic knowledge, they will have trouble understanding these subjects.
On the other hand, music is the least important subject, even though it is a crucial element in life. There are very few careers directly related to music compared to other fields, such as engineering, medical, and business. In addition, those who are genuinely interested in music can enrol at specialized schools, making them unnecessary to include it into general education. Moreover, the value of music can be highly subjective. For example, a certain type of music which is highly regarded by a culture or an individual, could be completely meaningless to other cultures.
In conclusion, there are more and more countries that are spending tons of money on education since they have noticed its importance . I believe that we should place more weight on sports and mathematics, while music is dispensable.
