Band 5: Most countries spend lots of money on education as they start to recognize its importance. In your opinion which two of the following subjects are the most important for your people and which one is the least important? Subjects:Literature, Sports, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, History, Music, Geography (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Education is the most important pillar of a country’s development. Many nations are spending huge amount of money to strengthen their education system. Although all subjects hold their own importance, I believe that history and sports have an edge over others . As per my perspective, economics and literature are least essential subjects for young people. In this essay, I will shed some light on my point of view in the following paragraphs.

To commence with, Both history and sports are crucial for youngsters because history helps to get knowledge about cultural background and sports is beneficial for physical as well as mental health. For example, young individual learn about the historical importance of their culture, which encourage them to inherit this to next generation. As a result of this, we can preserve a tradition for long time. Moreover, by inculcating sports subject in the school curriculum, we can indulge juveniles in activities which will promote healthy lifestyle and reduce obesity. Healthy citizens will create a prosperous nation. A research in America has shown that children who take part in sports and games are least likely to have obesity.

On the other hand, economics and literature are not for everyone because these does not impact individuals life directly as sports does. Economics is suitable only for those who are interested in it and have a career goal to become politician or work in political line. For example, Sania Mirza is a famous bedmeton player, in her recent interview she said that she has studied economics at her school but she is not into it. This has wasted her time and energy. Moreover, literature is not relevant for young gerneration as it require deep insight and patience, which are absent in adolescents.

To conclude this, although school curriculm has many subjects to teach students, some of them should be prioritized for the sake of yougsters holistic development. History and sports should be compulsory at school while literature and economics should be optional. This approach will help to allocate require time to important subjects.
