In the modern era, employees pay more attention and select personnel based on their interpersonal skills, while other people believe that having both social skills and good qualifications leads to success at their careers. I personally agree with the statement as both social and academic skills play a key role in almost every type of job.
On the one hand, the presence of formal qualifications undoubtedly indicates a high level of knowledge of the individual. In actual fact, many employers take pride and appreciate the intellectual strength of their employees, as it helps them perform any job easily and successfully. this is absolutely true, especially for professions that require deep knowledge, such as a doctor, programmer or engineer, since they play one of the main roles in the development of a country. It is for this reason that a candidate who does not have the proper intelligence may have little or much chance of losing promotion opportunities.
High qualifications do not always guarantee a solution to all issues in a career, therefore the presence of social skills is an essential tool for solving problems in a career. First and foremost, social skills help people strengthen the connection with their colleagues, as a result of which they think about any worries together. In this developed world, people respond to working with other employees, and they often need good bonds between each other to achieve the best results. In addition, good interpersonal skills help develop employee flexibility. Since social skills involve numerous encounters with new people, employees should better adapt to any frequent changes.
In conclusion, although technical knowledge is vital to many serious careers, social skills which help strengthen connections may be the best recruiting tool.
