It is argued whether companies should or should not provide a certain quota for women to occupy the senior position in the company. This essay agrees that this initiative should be implemented and hiring quotas need to be allocated. Firstly, it is genuinely harder for women to compete for leadership roles; secondly, women are capable of introducing different perspectives on leadership.
Because of the gender stereotypes, for the majority of females it is impossible to proceed with a career further unless it is forced. Since gender equality is not reached and men have the advantages in the job market, the only way to break the cycle is to change the rules we have within companies. For instance, if CEOs have certain quotas for women, which they are expected to fulfill, then more women get a chance to occupy high-level positions, eventually changing the people’s minds on this question.
Furthermore, including women in the decision-making process, allowing them to express their views and ideas, fosters healthy competition among candidates, which in turn drives better business outcomes. If there is only one closed group responsible for the management, comprised of people with similar ideas and backgrounds, then the result of the work can often consist of shared blind spots and mistakes. Having women represented at this level would bring a wider range of perspectives, leading to more innovative ideas and solutions.
In conclusion, government should approve the idea of allocation high-level positions, since it is beneficial for both marketing world and society.
