It is true that, in the modern world, our family relationships are weaker than they used to be. Due to their jobs, parents often leave their children alone while they are growing up.
Nowadays, many parents struggle to spend quality time with their kids for various reasons. When we compare today with ten years ago, the cost of living has increased significantly. To meet these rising standards, we often have to work more. As a result, the average number of working hours has skyrocketed in the last 25 years. Consequently, parents lack time for themselves and for their children. In the past, many women stayed at home, which alleviated this issue. Unfortunately, in today’s world, working is no longer a choice; it has become an obligation for both genders.
A child who cannot spend time with their parents may face numerous problems in the future. Firstly, if there are no limits on phone or iPad usage, the child could be exposed to harmful videos. Secondly, the bond between the child and their parents may become fragile. Finally, the child may be prone to mental health issues due to a lack of attention. They will grapple with the question, ‘What is a family?’ As we grow, we need the love of our parents; we need to feel that we are loved. This is how we learn the true meaning of family.
In conclusion, while modern life demands much from us, to avoid neglecting our children and families, we should seek jobs that require less time.
