Band 4+: Most people are not interested in how their food has been produced. They only care about how much it costs. How true is this statement ? What influences people when they buy food ? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In our contemporary world, most individuals do not care about the production method of the food. They only pay attention to the price of the food. In my view, it is totally wrong issue, because nowadays, the content and production pattern of the food is crucial to most consumers. Moreover, there are several possible reasons that, influence customers when they buy food. In my essay, I will give clear explanations to issues by giving reasonable example.

Personally, most individuals prefer to buy food by checking its content rather than cost. They read the instructions of the food carefully before they buy it, because it is essential to them to know how it is produced and what kind of chemicals or vitamins it consists of. Additionally, it is extremely important to clients’ health. In our modern era, many people have allergies to various chemical elements and artificial tastes. A good example of this is my mother, who always checks the contents and production way of the food she wants to buy. Because of the fact, she tries to purchase natural ones. In addition, she does not care about its price, and buys expensive and high quality foods.

On the other hand, there are 2 possible reasons which influence people, when they go shopping. Firstly, it is an advertisement. Every individual watches or reads at least one ad during the day. That is way, it plays a pivotal role to influence them. When individuals see a product which they watched its ad, in most situations they buy it. Furthermore, appearance of the food has also impact on consumers’ choice. Because of the fact, it is a hidden marketing trick that is used by many manufacturers. According to this, firstly people saw the appearance of the food such as its shape or colour. If it looks good customer, they buy it.

Ultimately, nowadays, some people ignore ingredients of the food and always try to buy cheaper food. In my opinion, it is not true and they always care about the content and how it produced. It is beneficial to them to know about its content, because of health. There two main reasons, what thing affect people when they purchase food. They are adverts and appearance of food.
