Nowadays, an increasing number of people are considering or has finish their immigrations to seek for a better life in different nations. In spite of this inevitable trend, whether a multi-cultural nation does more good than harm is still a controversial issue. My view is that the advantages of multi-culture outweighs the disadvantages.
It is clear that diversified cultures in a nation could make citizen’s life more vibrant. This means that indigenous people could be exposed to more colorful options ranging from cuisine, costume and even architectures, which are all essential parts of a culture. More specifically, both UK and USA are both culture mosaic, where individualistic cultures have been assimilated into indigenous culture and play a pivotal part in national development.
Moreover, people who immigrate to other nations tend to be hard-working and it is more likely that this group of people are with higher academic qualifications and with better background. These immigrants could be an essential part in revenue because they could bring in more revenue for the nation.
On the other hand, it is also true that the trend do bring challenges and risks for the government. Those who harbor that people from different backgrounds are more prone to have conflicts and confrontations may argue that this pose a threat to social rest and have negative to social bonding. This is probably true to some extent, but this possible issues also could be mitigated and prevented by the authority who could take steps to hand with.
In sum, a colorful and diversified society could be embrace and we could try to accept new cultures accordingly when they are coming.
