In the status quo, modern technology has an influence on people’s daily lives; however, there is a debate as to whether this has more positive or negative effects. As a matter of fact, I see that technology does not affect consumers shopping only negatively, but consumers lives in general.
At the beginning, the cancer of this life is social media because people scroll on it every single moment to see what the trend is. Furthermore, they want to look like actors and bloggers; it does not matter whether they love the style of this actor or not; they just want to look like him. For instance, here in Egypt, there is a festival called “the red carpet” held in El-Gouna at the end of the year. In this festival, almost all actors come to it with the fashion trends; as a result, people imitate them; therefore, this creates a toxic environment as one of us must have its own style. The arguments presented here are convincing, but we have one more persuasive topic to cover.
As the consumer wants to fit in with the trend, there is a profound increase in prices nowadays. Manufacturers will continue to increase their costs until people stop buying anything trendy. Moreover, even popular neighborhood shops doubled their prices; so, this causes a lot of financial problems.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that technology has impacts on people’s lives, but it is up to us whether we use it for bad or good things; however, people must think before buying anything and do not swindle by websites and trends.
