Band 7+: Nowadays a growing number of boys and girls within normal weight ranges have an intense fear of gaining weight and therefore get anorexia. Why do you think a lot of teenagers have a strong desire to be skinny?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

– In this day and age, a growing number of teenagers are obssed with being extremely skinny. The ramification of music business and the abundance of beauty- advertisements are primary rationnales for this tendency.

– In the first place, the main culprit explained for this alarming phenomenon could be the impact of music industry. To be more specific, music domain frequently promotes a specific beauty standard that idealizes a slim physique. Celebrities such as singers, idols are consistently featured in various media platforms, on stage, and in music videos, reinforcing the notion that being thin is a significant factor in achieving success or societal acceptance. A notable illustration of this trend is the widespread adoption of unhealthy eating habits promoted by K-pop idols. Practices implemented in order to get skinner like skipping breakfast and consuming minimal amounts of fruits have become prevalent. Numerous reports indicate that fans are incorporating these methods into their own eating habits, posing serious threats to their physical and overall well-being.

– Another juxtification associated with this issue is the prevalence of beauty- focused advertisements of big companies. In other words, cosmetic companies with the aim of maximazing profit would do at all cost to sell their items, including publishing distorted images and visuals- targeted advertisements. The prolonged exposure to these ads could ultimately result in damaging one’s self-esteem, prompting them to lose weight.

– In conclusion, the fact that youngsters are prone to getting slimmer owing to the popularity of unrealistic beauty standards and the redundance of advertisements.
