These days, as the number of people who suffer from diseases are rising, it can be noticed that these patients gravitate to some alternative medical treatments instead of consulting with their doctor.
On the one hand, when a pandemic happens like COVID-19, people need to struggle with health problems more than often, which subsequently prompts them to visit a doctor and pay a significant amount of money. Obviously, many individuals, particularly families with a lot of children, may tend to avoid spending these staggering costs by relying on their basic medical knowledge, which is probably gained by trial and error previously. For instance, some common illnesses, like fever or headache, can be effortlessly treated with consuming an ordinary anti inflammatory or painkiller syrup like Tylenol. Moreover, in some cases the cost of treatment is not even the debate —if you are rolling in money—, and the waste of time in a busy clinic might be nuisance for some patients, which is actually a plausible reason in order to turn into alternative drugs.
In terms of disadvantages, it is conspicuous that ordinary individuals are not sophisticated enough to decide on what an appropriate medicine is subject to their sickness. Therefore, it is not a proper approach to avoid visiting a doctor, which might result in exacerbating the sickness. Moreover, considering the extensive expertise of a knowledgable expert in any field is a decent behavior that makes the society follow a savory culture.
From my perspective, the best method to implement in hectic situations of health issues is evaluating the context by ourselves first. Thus, after taking considerations, such as the pain level, into account, we can make a proper decision on visiting a doctor or trying an alternative medicine.
