In today’s world, with the development of technologies and products at an alarming rate, importance of advertising increased. Some people say that advertising focused on children should be entirely prohibited. Others believe that this is normal part of contemporary world and the one who should monitor children must be parents, not government. Although children can easily be influenced by what they see, from my point of view parents should raise their children normally so that they don’t require something that’s not important or harmful.
First of all, parents should take responsibility for what their children consume rather than relying on government bans. Parents can easily control screen time and explain to their children that not everything in advertisements is necessary. If parents teach beneficial spending habits from an early age, children will not require every advertised toy or product.
On the other hand, advertising is a normal part of the modern world, so completely hiding children from it is not practical. Instead of banning ads, it is better to teach children critical thinking skills. When children learn to decide between unnecessary things and real needs, they will become smarter consumers in the future.
In conclusion, while some people argue that advertising aimed at children should be banned, I believe that parents, rather than the government, are responsible for monitoring what children see. Instead of a total prohibition, guiding children properly and helping them develop critical thinking skills are much more effective ways to prepare them for the modern world. This is the way children should grow.
