In the contemporary world, many famous artists and renowned individuals are recognized based on their wealth and lavish lifestyle, and many people argue that this phenomenon could have a profound impact on children and youngsters in a negative way. I completely agree with this statement and believe that following celebrities can be detrimental for children’s growth.
To begin with the first reason, if children start idolizing celebrities beyond a healthy level, they might start to get a sense of inferiority. The vast majority of celebrities and influencers have inherited their wealth from their family and parents. As a result, children who look up to these people are usually unaware of the true origin of their affluency, and they believe that the celebrities have earned their money by hard work. Thus, when they try their best to become very rich and fail, they would lose their self esteem and become depressed, seeing their lack of extreme wealth as a sign of their failures.
Secondly, celebrities usually leave a bad impression on children. Rich people usually do not grapple with the same life issues and complexities as ordinary citizens. This unfortunate fact creates a toxic mindset in which celebrities do not care about life as much as they should, and they flex their wealth as the best solution to everything. The same mindset can start creeping into children’s minds and due to their lack of maturity, many of the youth will become fixated on the belief that money is the solution for everything. As a result, they will become greedy members of society after their adulthood and corruption will plague the world.
Although many children can be aspired to do good deeds such as charity by celebrities, it can overall deterioriate children’s behavior.
To conclude, in my humble opinion, while celebrities have become quite popular based on their extravagant lifestyle and money, children should seek better examples to become responsible members of the society.
