Child Labor is a multifaceted problem, and understanding it’s causes is crucial to addressing it. To begin with, poverty is one of biggest reasons behind this issue, playing a significant role. Due to financial difficulties, parents force their children to work and engage in labor, which negatively impacts on their health. This takes away their childhood and innocence. For example, during the civil war in South Sudan in 2008, poverty level soared, more and more children were forced into labor and handwork. Thus this cause can be considered as the fueling force behind this issue.
In addition, another leading cause of this manace is weak law enforcement that allows companies to hire children without any documentation or age specification. For instance, In Bangladesh, even children as young as 10 years old have been forced to employ in factories. Hence, this cause can be considered as the breeding ground of this problem.
However, there are certain viable measures that can be taken to curb this problem. The primary solution would be free education that engage people to learn knowledge and skills, breaking the cycle of poverty. Furthermore, another effective solution I believe that would be strict government policies that can be stopped child labor. By taking strict actions and punished the companies that hire children.
