In recent years, it is believed that children watching television and playing video games impact negatively on their mental health. I personally agree with this preposition, which i will explain why in this essay.
Firstly, one of the common effect of such situation is the lack of concentration among students. By this it means that excessive use of video games and television affects the children’s ability to focus on their studies leading to poor academic performance. Furthermore, it also gives rise to major health problems such as obesity among youngsters, as they tend to live a sedentary lifestyle by watching television or playing video games all day. It results in lack of physical fitness as they tend to avoid participating in outdoor activities leading to children becoming obese. Finally, watching television and playing such games excessively leads to children becoming addicted which may give rise to major concerns such as aggression among children after losing a game.
Admittedly, it is true that such activities helps children to get distracted from loneliness and it may serve as a source of entertainment for them. Moreover, use of technology also gives access to a wide range of information related to education purposes and other resources, nevertheless if these activities are done out of limit then it may cause mental health related issues.
In conclusion, doing such activities excessively may give rise to major concerning issues, but by adapting a balanced approach such as setting a time limit for these activities can be effective.
