In ancient times, due to the lack of transportation vehicles, factories, and other polluting things, the environment was quite clean. Today, this problem has become an international. I do not fully agree with this statement, because individual persons and especially individual countries can greatly help clean up the environment. This essay will support my view in the following paragraphs.
The first reason why I disagree that this is an international problem is that individual countries have the ability to take effective measures to protect the environment. For instance, many countries are already switching to eco-friendly public transport, such as electric buses that do not emit carbon dioxide. Additionally, the United States of America and other major countries have introduced tax incentives for electric vehicles, proving that national initiatives can lead to significant progress in combating environmental pollution.
The second reason why I think it is not necessary to solve the environmental problem internationally is that individual humans action combined can have a global impact. If more and more people adopt sustainable habits such as recycling, using renewable energy sources, or reducing plastic usage, the collective effect can be enormous.
On the other hand, some argue that environmental problems require international cooperation because pollution does not respect borders. For example, toxic emissions from factories in one country can lead to acid rain in another, while plastic waste dumped into rivers in Asia ends up polluting coastlines thousands of miles away.
To sum up, while international cooperation is valuable for solving environmental problems, individual countries and citizens can still make a significant impact through national initiatives and sustainable lifestyle choices. Therefore, I maintain that environmental protection should not depend only on global efforts, as local and individual actions remain important.
