Environmental issues have become a pressing concern in today’s society. While some argue that individuals can make a significant impact, others opine that the magnitude of these issues necessitates global cooperation. In my opinion, environmental challenges have evolved to outstrip individual responsibility. Consequently, solving these issues requires a concerted effort from nations, corporations, and communities. Each country should implement comprehensive policies to address these challenges.
Firstly, the extensive clearing of forests to expand agriculture and industrial development has increased greenhouse gas concentrations, causing global warming. For instance, carbon emissions from industrialized countries contribute to global warming, which leads to rising sea levels, melting polar ice caps, and extreme weather events worldwide. Secondly, pollutants released into the oceans can harm marine life, affecting fisheries and economies in distant nations that rely heavily on seafood and tourism. Therefore, we can effectively reduce environmental damage caused by countries, businesses, and individuals only by establishing international carbon emission standards. It is imperative that eco-friendly awareness activities be organized globally to ensure that people adopt environmentally friendly behaviors. These behaviors include reducing vehicle traffic and adopting government-promoted modes of transportation, such as shared bicycles, electric vehicles, and public transportation.
However, in addition to relying on international regulations to reduce environmental damage, individual behavior can still positively contribute to environmental protection. To reduce carbon emissions, people can reduce driving cars and increase their use of government-promoted transportation options.
Overall, severe and complex environmental problems are making life more difficult worldwide. Therefore, I believe that in addition to individuals taking the initiative, it is also necessary for international governments to join in formulating regulations. For example, signing treaties with countries and agreeing to reduce pollution levels can significantly help reduce pollution.
