In today’s modern era, it has become a common practice for professional photographers to capture well-known individual images everywhere they go. Although there is public curiosity about celebrities, some individuals agree with the phenomenon. However, others vehemently criticize that following them is not the right thing. In this essay, I will explore both viewpoints and offer some pertinent examples to illustrate the current state of affairs. I firmly believe with the latter view point.
To begin with, several reasons highlight the importance of taking famous people’s images by professional photographers. First and foremost, the fans of that particular celebrity are curious to learn their lifestyle and information. By giving this type of detail, fans would love to follow that person’s habit, style, and personality. For example, one of my friends, Abrar, is a big fan of Indian film star Salman Khan; he used to follow him, wearing the same attire and keeping similar hairstyles as Salman Khan. Secondly, increasing TRP by spreading famous people’s pictures via social media is a popular trend, which most of the young people prefer to follow. Thus, it indicates the positive aspects of this trend.
On the other hand, another group of people believe that photographers should not do this. Following someone and capturing images of his/her personal life is a wrong practice. Celebrities are also human beings and have a personal life apart from their career. Moreover, some times, this approach is detrimental when it hampers their personal life as well as confidential information. For instance, in December 2017, Prianka Chopra, who is a famous Bollywood actress, filed a case against a photographer for taking her ugly moment clip.
In conclusion, it is undeniably true that in some aspects, photographers should do this to let their followers know about their idol, but with the permission of that celebrity. Getting pictures of famous personalities is what people demand, and they should satisfy their fans by allowing photographers to take their picture.
