In recent times, better governance and healthy politics is becoming a fable phenomenon and individuals, mostly the young generation, are losing their belief and interest in politics and social problems. I believe that government is responsible for the attitudinal change. To ensure people’s trust in politics and interest in public affairs, government should build a strong trust in the mind of country’s citizens. My justification will be provided in the upcoming paragraph, along with relevant examples.
One of the primary reasons of the youth to lose interest governance and healthy politics is that government does not shows enough interest in the matters brought out by the youth of the country. To add to this, government does not encourage the upcoming generation for their contribution towards the country. For example, if the students are not satisfied with the rules of the public universities, they start doing protests and strikes. Instead of listening to their demands, the government starts to detain them. As a consequence, the youth will lose their trust towards the government and will not be involved in politics and public affairs.
However, to gain public trust in politics and interest in public affairs, government should organize campaigns related to social problems. Political leaders can arrange rallies for the public to make them sure about the accountability of their organizations, which can lead to build a trust in the people of society. For instance, political parties, which are more likely to be involved in the government-related programs, can organize a survey to know the public opinion from different states of country to implement them in the nation’s law.
In conclusion, government plays an important role to build the trust and interest of youth in politics. I believe that government and other public enterprises providing public services may improve their trust in young generation by fulfilling their basic and important needs.
