Some individuals argue that, media should not openly publish about private lives of celebrities. I completely agree with the given statement because every individual has right to privacy and revealing privacy might cause security threats.
To begin with, news media should not share confidential information of famous people because every person has privacy rights. As a human being all of us have private life and beyond the professional life celebrities are free to live their comfortable private life. When news and other media platforms does intervention on their personal life, this act violates the right to privacy. As a result, a person might lose morale. For example, when news channels publish unauthorized private information it leads to privacy violation, which might have detrimental effect on mental well-being of a person. Therefore, confidential information should be kept safe.
Furthermore, another compelling reason for not publishing private details is that it could pose security threat. Not only the person would face security issues, but also their family might suffer. This is because, many celebrities tend to have both supporters and haters. The haters might try to use their confidential details to cause them harm physically as well as mentally. Many haters would try to attack them by using that information they got from news media such as by tracking their live location, and also by manipulating the information in negative way, which could cause adverse consequence on person’s security and prestige. For instance, a famous singer of Nepal committed suicide due to the leakage of his private details such as video and photos by an online news portal. Thus, leaking private details might cause harm to an individual.
In conclusion, I firmly agree with the argument that the private lives of celebrities should not be openly shared by the news media because it might violate the right to privacy and publishing about this might lead to security issues.
