In modern world, grandparents play a crucial role at upbringing of their grandchildren by providing their essential care, in most of the families. While there are some tremendous benefits of this practice for youngsters, from my perspective this is mostly negative development.
It is a well known fact that, the grandparents have more experice in child-care which make it easier for them to communicate and understand the child’s needs. Sometimes grandparents assistance is vital, as both parents choose to stay in their job to provide the family financialy after the child-birth. Thus, it become almost impossible for them to spend time with their kids. In these cases the primary source of help are either babysitters or elderly members of family. Staying with grandparents have positevely affect the children’s behaviours, as they learn from older generation. This impact show itself in their manners and etiquette.
Nevertheless, the role of granparents should solely carry subsidiary character. As gransparents start to replace the primary caregiver of child, it loosen the connection between mother, father and child. If parents do not allocate their time to their todlers, it will become more diffucult to understand them in their adolescent periods. Another point is that, eldery people can sometimes do not give necessary attenion to kids, due to their ages and energy. As a result children left without guardian, which adversely affect their mental and emotional development. Moreover, the older people’s way of teaching can collide with parents’ way of fostering.
In conclusion, grandparents should involve to raising of grandchildren, however this involvement should not be outweight the role of parents in family.
