In recent times, many stores import and sell a variety of foods from other nations, rather than selling home made products. By doing so, consumers are forced to consume foreign products which they have no idea about the manufacturers. This practice has generated an ongoing debate about whether it’s advantages outweigh the drawbacks. In this essay, I will explore the benefits and disadvantages of this tendency, and I will draw a conclusion.
Let us begin by examining the benefits. One significant advantage of food shops selling more imported products compared to local ones is that it can permit the citizens to enjoy a diversity of intercontinental meals, and so exposing to lots of health benefits found in some of these foods. Not all countries have the adequate weather and climate for cultivating things like spinach, apple, or grapes, but since these fruits and vegetables possesses a high level of nutritive minerals, most countries will rather by them in their natural state than buying those grown artificially in thier states.
Another positive aspect of this it can enhance good relationships among governments. Most countries per annual income comes from money made from exports, and if more and more goods including foodstuffs are exported it may generate bigger amounts. Let us take for instance, China’s bond to Africa in recent years, it is stronger than ever before because of the increased importation of Chinese products by many African countries.
On the other hand, this habit of selling more foreign products can impact the local producers negatively and discourage them from inovating, because they may make little or nothing from their labor. On top of this, many imported foods are preserved with non nutritive chemicals that can cause health damage to the consumers.
To sum up, many stores selling a lot of different foods from other countries can be advantageous for both consumers and for international politics. However, this may reduce the quantity of home made products available in the markets and expose some consume to diseases. In my opinion, I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
