In the modern world, Many people buy cars or clothes based on popular brands due to tending to follow the development era and technology. I believe that this is a negative development for their survival, and this essay will explain the reasons for this issue and provide several examples.
There were several factors that influenced people to spend a lot of money to buy expensive things. In the beginning, nowadays, social media provides branded and expensive goods through its homepage and becomes popular among the public, causing many citizens to be hegemonic to buy them so as not to be outdated. Secondly, according to many individuals, the quality of some expensive goods are better than the cheaper ones which causes them to jointly come to the store or open their smartphones to buy the costly and famous items. On the other hand, many individuals believe that items last longer to wear and make them more confident in their daily lives or go to work in the company.
In my perspective, these kinds of behaviors have a negative effect on body image due to they are hegemonized from the modern era and their near environment. In other words, this caused them to make high standardizations and not customize their needs, but tend to be based on what they see. This causes when they are unable to fulfill their desire to buy it it will affect them mentally, and they will look for ways, such as going into debt, to buy what they want.
In summary, although people are shifting towards famous brands to get good quality products, but buying them for the sake of social recognition is a negative development. I believe it has both negative aspects of it.
