Now people do not need to work with demanding bosses and nervous colleges just to get a salary that can only close their basic needs. Times changed and social medias began to be not just as a hobby, but lifestyle and job. People’s behavior in social medias are more confident and free, it is place where human can be whoever he or she wants. This is why people choosing online communication.
Secondly, nowadays, our society is very judgmental. Why? Because of the unrealistic beauty standards that put person in some cage. Most of the time that person is always woman. Society always shout about being super skinny, thin and pretty. In real life people can see our true selfs, while in social media you can use filters and make your picture more beautiful and unreal. This is the second reason why people choose to communicate online. If you have beautiful profile picture everyone would want to be your friend, but in real life people might see you as a regular or even disgusting creature.
Overall, In my point of view the idea of pretending to be someone you have created in your mind will close you from harsh reality is actually very helpful, because it can reduce the number of depression and suicides.
