These days, all over the world, people have access to numerous online newspapers and magazines. As a result, there are some people who believe that printed ones will cease to exist in the next few years. I completely agree with this opinion because the popularity of online newspapers and magazines will continue to increase and the revenue from advertisments which supports the survival of printed papers will further decline.

The first reason why printed newspapers and magazines will cease to exist is due to the soaring popularity of the online ones. By simply downloading the application on the smartphones, the online versions can be accessed from any location without the hassle of carrying a physical copy. I myself read news and magazines on my mobile every morning during my commute to work without the need for carrying a physical copy with me. Additionally, the onlines news and stories are updated in real time, whereas, the next update for the printed ones is available only once the printed copies are ready.

Furthermore, because of the decline in sponsorship revenue from companies, the printed newspapers and magazines’s survival is threatened. Due to improvements in technology and the internet there is a diversion of funds from print to digital media, such as on Facebook and Instagram. Another reason is the rise of social media influencers and celebrities for endorsing products. Since the digital media allows for interactive videos, games, as well as participation of the audience, more companies prefer to invest money in these areas as opposed to printed ones where these opportunities are absent. All of this leads to more costs than the revenue, causing severe losses and a risk of closure for them.

In conclusion, I totally agree that in the near future, printed newspapers and magazines might not exist because of ease of convenience of the online ones and the diversion of funds away from the print to digital media.

There is an ongoing debate about whether students should be given homework every day or have more free time after school. The government spends about 220 million pounds a year supporting museums and galleries in the UK, and a similar amount subsidizing the visual and performing arts. This is a huge sum to spend on minority interests, and the money would be better spent on more important things. It should be up to the people who enjoy cultural attractions to pay for them. What are your views?

Annually, the UK government spends a large amount of money on supporting the cultural and artistic activities. Some people argue that the government should allocate funds to more critical areas, while the cost of cultural entertainment should be paid by individuals. In my view, I don’t fully agree with this perspective. On the one hand, […]
