In the contemporary world, many people tend to watch foreign film rather than their own locally produced films. In my opinion, it is because majority part of the countries around the world doesn’t have remarkable film making aspects, consequently plenty of individuals prefer to watch top ranked and well directed films. Although, it depends also prefer of citizens to solve this issue governments do have to allocate budget to investments on exploring this field and improving overall quality of skills on film making.
Nowadays, more and more people prefer non-traditional for them foreign culture films. Furthermore, they reject to support local film industries and not acknowledge their script. Because, local people used to this script whole their lives and it becomes predictable destroying the whole entertainment. For instance, in my country the script about daily basis of kazakh national people are clear for all residents, consequently young generation reject to support local film industry. Additionally, numerous film makers in various countries have issues with soundtrack, visual effects, actor, actress, editing and filming location. As a result, people choose to watch foreign film rather than their because of low-quality sources in their country.
On the other hand, governments should definitely provide financial support to their local film industries for several important reasons. Firstly, local cinema plays a crucial role in preserving national culture, language, and historical background. If governments do not invest money in this sphere, young people will completely lose connection with their traditions and absorb only foreign culture. Secondly, allocating budget can help local directors to buy modern filming equipment, hire professional sound designers, and train young talented actors. For example, with financial support from the state, local production teams can create high-budget historical or sci-fi movies with great visual effects, which can easily attract citizens back to local cinemas.
In conclusion, although many people nowadays prefer watching foreign movies due to predictable local storylines and low production quality, I strongly believe that governments must financially support local film industries. This financial aid will not only save the national cultural identity, but also improve the overall skill level of local film makers to compete on an international level.
