In modern society, living necessities are more inexpensive than before. It is beneficial to a certain extent, but I personally think that drawbacks are far more significant.
On one hand, cheap products appeal a huge crowd of customers. People with different social statuses can all afford those items, willing to spend money with less comparing prices in different stores, which is more efficient and higher the satisfactions of the consumers. As a result, social economy is boomed substantially. However, there are always two sides on every issue. Inexpensive goods resulting in huge amount of waste and encourage people doing impulsive purchases, Take convenience products for example, they are too cheap to buy so that people would spend money on those without hesitations. From things like disposable utensils and plastic bags to those we need really need. They have had a great impact on the environment and the ways people consume. The processes of dealing with eco-unfriendly materials releases lots of chemicals that pollute air and soil.
In conclusion, even though cheap things brighten everyone’s eyes, they could generate tough issues on the environment and customers. Based on the arguments above, I firmly believe that negative effects for inexpensive goods are more than their positive ones.
