It is thought by some that people allot the majority of their time at work in recent years. While I acknowledge that there are some drawbacks, such as limited hobbies and work-life balance issues, the potential merits include financial stability, skill prosperity.
On one hand, one major demerit of this is that people with busy schedules can be deprived of the entertainments. For example, a person who devotes himself to merely work may not have any interests about outside life and it will affect his soft skills and communication abilities. In other words, spending long hours at work strain personal relationship. It means individuals can miss their family and it can cause the feeling of depression and the lack of fulfilments.
On the other hand, a primary benefit of working a lot is gaining high financial capabilities. If they focus on their career advancement, they will get not only economics assets, but also grow professionally. Furthermore, this implies career progression and personal development.
In conclusion, although allotting most of one’s time at work can lead to career advancement, financial benefits, it would also be better to maintain a balance between the two when planning future goals.
