According to research, nowadays some consumers are much less influenced by advertising than in the past. There are several reasons behind this trend, and I believe it is largely a positive development.
One major reason for the shift is that people are more informed and skeptical. We are living in a fast-paced world; everyone has a mobile phone. This actively demonstrates that individuals have more information about the internet; therefore, they may notice fake advertisements. In other words, they read product reviews and comments after watching the advertisement and realize it is useless. Another contributing factor is increasing ad-blocking technology. Most people ban ads on social media apps such as YouTube, Instagram, and Telegram in order not to be influenced. As a result, the number of influencers has decreased and people have become indifferent.
In my opinion, this is a positive development, as companies must improve quality instead of lying in ads. In today’s world, consumers make smarter decisions and are less likely to be manipulated by exaggerated claims. It will have a positive impact on companies to focus on improving product quality rather than spending huge amounts of money on ads. Consequently, this creates a healthier and more competitive market. Moreover, individuals spend their money wisely, avoiding unnecessary purchases. This can lead to financial stability, especially among young people, who are one of the main targets of digital marketing.
In conclusion, the main reason behind the reduction in the number of influencers is due to people being more informed and the rise of ad-blocking technology. This can lead to improved product quality for companies, and therefore I view this trend positively.
