Discussing the exploitation of animals in medical spheres for testing is reaching a peak these days. One group of people has an opinion that using animals this way needs to become illegal and unused. At the same time, there is another group of people who insist on demand of this testing. In this essay, I am going to highlight the positive and negative views on this topic, and provide my own opinion.
On the one hand, animal testing exists for helping people. It is used to prevent individuals’ adverse reaction to some products, make a product better for using or just create a needed chemical formula to not harm users. For example, some cosmetic brands still use animals for checking products on safety, such as creams or serums, because this is the most genuine method so far. It indicates that there are some advantages of animal testing. Even though it brings a lot of harm to them, ensuring in safety is also crucial.
On the other hand, animals are suffering a lot by the experiments. Undoubtedly, the methods of testing are cruel, and leave creatures either disabled or dead. In addition, it is not fair towards wildlife, due to the fact that they are not meant to be suffering because of people. For instance, in some cases rabbits are used for dropping substances in their eyes, as was previously said, for checking the reaction on the product.
Taking everything into account, this essay helped to examine positive and negative sides of experiments on creatures. No doubt, contribution of it is valuable for society, but from another point of view, animals go through a lot by these explores. That is why I think that non-animal testing should adopt all brands and companies who still can not switch to another method of coming up with new products.
