In doing so, we overlook the quality of the work and the art created by them is often left underappreciated. One such example is the infamous singer Taylor Swift – a commercially successful yet artistically underrated celebrity. Critics consider her successful because of the number of records broken by her album but they fail to give regard to her poetical and witty lyrics. Her actual work gets slipped under the rug and she is instead lauded for wealth generated by her music.
Many actors are popular for their looks and fashion style instead of their acting.This judgment is detrimental to the future of the art. It sets a standard for the upcoming generation that money generated by a piece of work is more important than the quality of the work itself. This is perhaps the reason why a lot of songs, movies these days are reminiscent of each other, because a particular type of work will be prone to this new definition of success. Young people with distinct creative ideas will be reluctant to experiment something new.
In conclusion, some celebrities are definitely known for their impact on the industry and their immense talent , many are still famous for their wealth and glamour. To flourish the creativity of the youth, we as an audience must be mindful to appreciate people for their achievements and not on their aesthetics.
