Band 5+: Nowadays there are many television advertisements aimed at children. What effects do they have on children? Should TV advertising be controlled?

In this day and age, advertisements have been a potential tool for attracting attention from consumers, especially children. There will undoubtedly be some negative consequences of this trend, I suppose that advertising should be limited on TV by various measures.

As televison advertisements are become more commonplace and it still keeps happening on children, several related problems can be anticipated. Perhaps the major issues her is the increasing cost of products can be overwhelming for buyers. Advertisers often aim their marketing at children who can easily be influenced by the beautiful visual of products. Therefore, children are more likely to put pressure on their parents to buy them things. Another apparent problem is that the reduction of healthy lifestyle in children. As a huge amount of advertisements on TV displays on cigarettes that is illegal in some countries. These products can be risk to the health of children at early age leading to some diseases such as cancer or lung.

There are several actions that governments and individuals could take to tackle this matter above. An obvious step would he to limit or even ban advertisements that contains many factors do harm to children. Governments should sensor false information or products to create a safety space on TV. A second remedy might be for parents to become more restrict and have strong opinions about goods that children would like to purchase. Parents should encourage their children to consume products which are beneficial for their health by raising their awareness about the drawbacks of unhealthy products.

To conclude, the main issues seem to he the widespread of harmful advertising on televison. However, various measures such as banning these advertisements or suggesting children to change their habits in buying can be adopted to counteract these dangers
