In the modern world, young individuals are impressed with different celebrities, such as media and sports personalities, despite the fact that they may act in an unfavourable manner. In my opinion, this phenomenon has primarily adverse effects. I am going to elaborate on these ideas in the subsequent paragraphs.
To begin with, famous people serve as a role model for most citizens. Consequently, young fans tend to emulate their behaviour and habits. Thus, if a significant proportion of well known individuals act in an inappropriate way, their followers might imitate them, which can lead to more serious consequences. For instance, if stars show careless attitude towards the environment and do not illustrate any eco-habits, their fans may also do not follow basic ecological rules. As a result, the environmental condition can worsen, leading to other severe issues.
Moreover, some individuals may face phycological problems. Many followers tend to idealise their favourite celebrities, ignoring their negative attitude and instilling unreal positive qualities to their image. This may significantly influence their mental health because they fantasise about a fake imagery. Furthermore, after some time, when they grow up and understand their harmful behaviour, it might be difficult for them to embrace this fact because of the perfect model they followed for a long time. This may lead to various mental health challenges, such as depression.
In conclusion, although some celebrities present an unpleasant example, young people usually unconsciously follow them, emulating their lifestyle. To my mind, this trend has mainly detrimental impacts, including some global issues or innate personal problems.
