In the twenty-first century, a large number of young adults spend their free time in shopping centers. It is widely believed that this has a negative effect on young people and society. I completely disagree with this opinion, because shopping centres provide young people with opportunities to socialize and relax.
Firstly, shopping centres provide teenagers with opportunities to communicate with their friends face-to-face instead of through online games, where they spend almost all of their time. For example, when they spend their time with their friends, they can relax after a busy and stressful school schedule. It helps them reduce their stress and find new hobbies or friends, which makes them really happy and feel free. As a result, they can communicate freely and make new friends, which can help teenagers develop their social skills and become more confident.
Secondly, some young individuals find it easier to study in shopping centres with a cup of coffee, because it helps them concentrate and focus on their study. There are numerous students who cannot study in libraries or in peaceful places. For example, my friend usually spends most of her time in shopping centres to just study there, and she said that it really helps her to concentrate more rather than study in libraries. As a result, she can study with greater concentration while also making new friends, which can improve both her academic performance and social skills.
All in all, I strongly disagree that young people’s leisure time in shopping centres has a negative effect on them or society. From my perspective, these places can help young people socialize and relax in their free time.
