In recent times, several high school offering abroad exchange program since they think this program is beneficial for students. I believe the upside of this situation far outweigh its downside because there will be more opportunities to experience new things.
One disadvantage from exchange program is studying abroad can be really hard time for students. Since they are mostly living closer with their family, moving into a new country means they will live far away from home and their family. Besides, they need to adapt into a new environment, starting from the food, drink, and culture, which need time to get over it. Moreover, exchange students will feel alone when they have to live their own and get everything done by themselves. However, these problems will dissapear as the time went by, as long as they become an independent person and learn to be mature.
On the positive side, having an opportunity to go overseas not only gaining more knowledge, but also open their eyes widely to see what outside world looks like. From that experience, exchange students need to adapt and inteact with a perfectly new culture and environment. With that, their indepence will likely grow, which it is one of the factors needed in the future. For example, my brother, who was ever been an exchange students, despite the roughness at first month, she succeed to get over it, and become more mature and able to deal with a lot of problems. From the example, I believe that is one of the reasons of why teachers convinced that international exchange is necessary for students.
In conclusion, although exchange will trouble students at the first time, students will get a lot of benefits because they are able to see the outside world also learn how to be indenpendent and mature person as well. I believe this advantages is greatly outweigh the disadvantages.
