World population is hiking at an alarming rate. With the increase in population, the demands for the better transport system also got high. This can lead to a plethora of problems such as pollution and shipment congestion. It is advised to hype the tax on private vehicles to lessen such issues. In my opinion, even though it may help to some extent, it is not a solution, moreover, it can create more pressure for the fellow vehicle owners.
Firstly, the number of automobiles in a country directly depends on the population, affluent enough to own the cars. Increasing taxation on top of their expenses, can create hard feelings between them. Secondly, private vehicles are not only the reason for traffic issues. By imposing a heavy fine only on such vehicles can create a situation where, the owners may think of selling/ not purchasing. Thereby, affecting the automobile industry and sequentially, it will affect the economy of the nation. Nowadays, even a middle class family, living under financial plans, owns a car. Increasing the tariff may affect their current financial situation.
To continue with, the government can handle this situation easily by creating more traffic lanes and allocating each kind of vehicles in that particular lane. Furthermore, increasing the number of public vehicles at regular intervals at the peak time can reduce the congestion. For instance, a good number of people are using their vehicles for commuting to and from the work place. Allocating public buses and trains at short spans will encourage them to use it for the same. Thereby, the officials can avoid the travel situations as well as the pollution to an extent.
To put it in a nutshell, I pen down, saying that, it won’t be a wise decision to fire the whole forest for a rat. It can make other animals suffer. The authorities, companies and the individuals have to hold the hands to suppress this burning problem. Companies can allocate vans on the shift time for the commutation. Governments can create more transportation lanes and the individuals can share their vehicles with those who are sharing the same route. Thus without increasing the levy, we can reduce the problem. Everyone is equally responsible for a better, brighter pollution free, transit problem free future.
