Many organizations have established the method of organizing conferences online rather than discussing issues in person. Although online communication can be seen as a negative trend since excessive usage of it leads to physical burnout, I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages because online conferences result in signagicant cost saving.
In most of the cases overreliance on online communication creates physical burnout and digital fatigue which affect productivity, and ultimetily lead to poor well-being. As it is scientifically proven that spending more than 11 hours in front of a computer screen significantly increases the risk of death within 3 years. For example, according to the research conducted in 2020, the people in Silicon Valley who died beacuse of overusage of computers outnumbered the individuals who passed away owing to another type of health problems. However, I believe that if those external factors are avoided, telecommunication have far more benefits such as reduction in travel expenses.
Teleconferening is a reasionable way to save money. This is beacuse it eliminates travel costs which might be spent on transportation such as flights, train tickets, car rentals, or accommodation expenses. For example, if a company with 100 employees were to travel to a conference from Los Angels to New York , they would spent approximetily $5000 on travel expenses alone, assuming a trip for $500 per person. Therefore, I can confidently say that online telecommunicating has more benefits than its drawbacks.
In summation, online meetings can cause physical tiredness and serious health issues, it is my belief that pros prevail over its cons,as teleconferencing can save companies a considerable amount of money.
