Some people believe online learning will replace formal teaching and it has become significantly more popular among people. I personally agree that a balance of traditional learning and online courses is the most effective approach to education.
On the one hand, according to online courses, children can speed up their learning process and have access to wider and more complete resources. Especially with the appearance of artificial intelligence (AI), students can easily search a subject and have online courses for it. Additionally, they can attend more classes while they don’t need to commute and get stuck in traffic congestion.
In other words, this can be a time-saving way of learning. As a result, children experience less stressful educational years. For example, in many countries, schools because of COVID-19 pandemic replaced online teaching and this leads to better performances for some students.
On the other hand, traditional teaching is essential for any student. This is because it provides face-to-face communication. Hence, children would improve their social skills, teamwork and social etiquette if they attend real and traditional classrooms. Consequently, formal classes should not be eliminated from schools. For example, in Iran, social skill is considered one of the most important programs as well as academic learning in many schools and the government allocates a budget to promote more formal classes across the country.
In conclusion, while may some people believe that online courses are better than formal ones, I believe that both have merits and should be used together. Thereby children will gain educational qualification beside learning how to interact and work with their teammates. They kill two birds with one stone.
