There is a view that electronic learning is better than traditional one and should replace completely it in near future. I totally disagree with this claim due to holistic development
Traditional learning, by definition, is referred to as in-person or face-to-face learning. Social skills can be learned better in traditional learning. Because, students in the class interact with teachers and peers which helps them to socialize. For instance, a teacher in the classroom can communicate with students and teach them essential skills which will be useful in the future life. Moreover, communication and collaboration skills during the courses are easier when the group meetings and lectures are in real life.
Students studying on campus have opportunity to receive feedback from teachers and correct their mistakes immediately. We know that most research assignments require groupworks to develop students’ brainstorming, it is necessary to do this on the same location. Additionally, structured lesson schedules encourage students to keep up discipline at the same pace which causes them to save time in the day.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that teaching in the classroom nurtures both academic and social skills despite the time flexibility of e-learning.
