There is no denying the fact that shopping is an essential part of everyday life. While it is a commonly held belief that shopping online has become increasingly popular in recent years, there is also an argument that many people still prefer traditional shopping. This essay will analyse this topic from both points of view and express my opinion.
On one hand, online shopping is faster and easier, but customers cannot check products before buying them. In other words, people can shop from home and save time, but they may receive an item that does not meet their expectations. In addition, customers can buy products from international stores, although they may choose the wrong size or colour. For example, if someone orders a shirt from an American brand, they can order it without travelling to the country, but the shirt may arrive in the wrong size.
On the other hand, traditional shopping allows customers to see and test products before buying them, but there are fewer discounts than in online shopping. It is also possible to say that people can check the quality of products in person, but traditional stores usually have higher prices because they offer fewer discounts. Moreover, customers can smell perfumes or try on clothes before purchasing, although online stores often provide special offers and discounts to attract customers. For instance, when buying a perfume, customers can smell different fragrances and choose the one they like. However, the same perfume may be cheaper online because these stores usually offer more discounts.
In conclusion, there are no easy answers to this question. On balance, however, I tend to believe that both online shopping and traditional shopping have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the best choice depends on people’s needs and preferences.
