Band 6+: Many people like eating unhealthy food even though they know it is bad for their health. Why is this? What can be done to improve people's eating habits?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Several individuals prefer to eat unhealthy food, although they are aware that it is not good for their health. This trend is increasing because unhealthy food is usually delicious to eat and people do not have time to plan their diet. This essay will examine the main causes of this problem and suggest effective measures to address it.

One main reason for consumption of unhealthy food is because of its taste,it is tasty to eat. Spices and oil make the food palatable, which makes it attractive to people to consume it. Moreover, people do not have time to prepare healthy food. It is so convenient for individuals to grab fast food even though it is not good for health. For instance, as we know, food like burger, pizza and cold drinks are not good for health but people never stop to consume it because it is tastier than healthy food and it is available every corner of the city.

One effective solution is to strengthen both people’s awareness and healthy food outlets. Schools and other educational institutions should take responsibility to teach about the advantages of healthy food. At the same time, all corporate companies and institutions should promote open healthy food outlets in their premises. The government should emphasize opening healthy food restaurants all over the city. If people understand unhealthy food consequences and disadvantages, they will voluntarily incline to healthy food.

In conclusion, Although majority of people like to eat junk food because of its taste and availability, it can be changed with the help of people’s awareness and by prioritizing healthy food eating places with the help of school, institutions and government.
