Some individuals argue that online shopping comes with both benefits and drawbacks. On the one hand, online shopping offers convenience and better pricing for consumers. On the other hand, it also comes with greater chances of counterfeit products and higher possibilities of shipment problems.
One of the primary benefits of online shopping is the convenience it brings. Before online shopping existed, buying exclusive, or imported products required people to travel long distances or even cross country borders, which people considered ineffective. In comparison, with the increasing number of online shops nowadays, people can easily find the product they want even if it is not available in their home country, allowing for better overall experience and convenience. Another advantage is that people can easily compare the product they want from different shops. When people decide to buy a product manually, they must go from store to store to be able to compare the price and the quality. By contrast, online shops remove that limitation because consumers can compare the same product from different stores in a matter of seconds, allowing them to pick whichever store’s product they consider worthy and more affordable.
However, there are some drawbacks to this. One primary disadvantage of online shops is that there is a greater chance of encountering counterfeit products. When buying a product from an online shop, consumers cannot physically examine the product that they want to, nor verify it in an official store which results in higher chances of getting scammed. Another disadvantage is that there is a chance of a shipment problem. The product in itself may be in a good condition, but there is a possibility that the product can get damaged in the shipping process, whether because of the worker’s way of handling, or simply an accident. This can lead to consumers receiving damaged or even broken products.
In conclusion, even though online shopping comes with better convenience and pricing, it also has fraud and shipment problems.
