It is true that online shopping can be beneficial for people in various ways, even though it offers some potential drawbacks such as personal security. While this growing trend can be advantageous for some reasons, I firmly believe that its detrimental impact is more likely to be significant overall.
People can benefit from online shooping in a number of ways. Chief among them is that people can spend less time on buying their essentials online, as it can be delivered in a short time. For example, a person who wants to buy some new clothes should not have to spend a whole day to buy them from offline markets. Another worth mentioning benefit is the wide range of products available. In online shops, people can find different kinds of items, including clothes, jewelry, furniture, food, and so on, which allows them to meet their exact basic needs.
Despite these advantages described above, I would argue that the downsides of online shopping are more significant in comparison. The primary drawback is perhaps related to the privacy of individuals. When people buy products online, they must enter their personal information, such as their home address and phone number, which can be detrimental for those who does not want to share their security. Online shopping can also be inconvenient for people, especially for older grandparents, which is another area of major concern. Older people might not know how to order their basic needs online, and this can cause some inconvenience.
In conclusion, I do acknowledge the advantages of online shopping, however, I remain convinced that the drawbacks of this new development are more serious for the reasons stated above.
