In the last few decades, there has been an increase in the various types of cellular devices ranging from low to very high priced ones. It is easily accessible and has harmful effects on an individual’s health which in turn has adverse effect on the society. Restricting the ownership of mobile phones in order to reduce harmful effects, will it help. This essay will discuss both views.

There are several reasons many believe in owning a mobile phone. To begin, it is used daily for both regular work as well as for our personal needs. It is made life easier by teaching children, working online, traveling to work, playing soft music before going to bed , ordering meals, books and likewise. For example, ever since Covid, the IT industry in particular some of them are still working from home due to the easy access of laptop from home. However, there are some consequences.

On the other hand, there are some arguments put forward by people who believe that it has harmful effects. Firstly, it becomes an addiction even to do to small tasks. It is proven that the screen time is more for younger generation than studying in general. Although, children can learn from the gadgets it causes health problems. This can lead to obesity, lack of sleep and sometimes eye problems. As a result, it is advisable for children to focus on studies rather than depending on laptops for additional information.

To conclude, it is an adult who needs to restrict their child with a time frame so that they are not addicted to the phone. Likewise, adults as well have to set a cut-off time to minimse their usage.
