Band 4+: Parents are putting a lot of pressure on their children to succeed. What are the reasons for this? Is it a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Most of the parents, especially Asia parents tend to overwhelm their children with their career, holding the hope to see their achievements. In the past, a number of our parents’ generation had suffered from the negative effects such as political issues, family stereotype, financial issues. That trigger their thought to force their youngers to get successful lives, which can cause misunderstandings between parents and son relationship. Hence, a number of people including myself, think that is negative development along with some possible reasons.

Nowadays, many youngsters are being forced by their guardians to follow their guidance, that could be the reason of past experience. It is blatantly obvious that older generations had faced the consequences of poverty due to lack of education. This could be one of the reasons why a great deal of parents usually put lots of pressure on their children. For example, in the past century, millions of flocks had been negatively affected by poverty. Because of non-educated and political issues, that effect had driven to utterly ridiculous situations, that could make their mindsets to give their children in order to avoid happening that kind of nightmares.

Another cause could be the competence of the parents between each other, which can be seen mostly in schoolchildren. We can hear that some of the parents just compare their own son or daughter with the others to get how they can take care of their son or daughter. When their ability is thought to be under the others, they will insist on working hard without considering their passion and decision. However, some of he guardians think that their children might not try hard if there is no competition or looking at another more brilliant friends. That could be the root cause of being put a lot of pressure by father and mother.

According to above factors, this can be negative development for each and every child. One of the results could be making adolescents challenging in making decisions. Although minor ones would not be obvious with ignorant situations, there could be terrible results when it comes to important ones. For instance, if a child has been ordered for a long time even he or she becomes adolescence or young adult, he or she will be unable to make a simple decision like what he want to eat, whether he should hang out or not. Furthermore, the youngsters could be arduous by the time they fall into the problems, and time management which is essential for the whole life will be negatively affected. Due to this, their life can be ruined for the whole life, and this might be difficult to succeed with tons of burden. To the worst, suicidal case could be occurred if those who could not handle the unwanted consequences.

In conclusion, pressure from our own parents has been put on to the younger generations for a long time is the root cause of mainly past unwanted experiences like poverty and competence between the parents that outweigh the negative developments.
