Nowadays, it is argued that overweight juveniles’ guardians must be penalized because of their obesity. This essay disagree with this idea because parents are not always present while their toddlers consume unhealthy food, and they may put on weight because of genetics.
To begin with, it can be said that a plethora of adolescents tend to have junk food when they are away from their breadwinners. In other words, at school when those children are unsupervised by their foster parents, they usually consume meals with vast amounts of calories, which are almost ultra processed food with high percentage of fats. For instance, a recent study found that primary school students get about 70% of their daily recommended calorific allowance during school hours. This means that adults do not have control on their minors dietary intake all the day time.
Furthermore, a myriad of specialists believe that overweight can be due to genetics. To illustrate, numerous obese juniors probably gain weight because of family health issues such as hormonal imbalance or digestive problems. An eminent example some medical research papers which revealed that for several cases of infants, genetic factors have the major reasons of their obesity. What can be said is that guardians should not be responsible for their dependents’ weight because there are various causes that negatively affect their well being.
In conclusion, after highlighting the above mentioned points, it can be reiterated that if juveniles put on weight, this should not mean that caregivers have to face the consequences of that, but reasons for their obesity should be revealed and treated. I am of the belief that schools should supervise pupils’ meals, and parents must ask for medical care when their infants suffer from such issues as they can compose a threat to their health.
